Course Overview
This is a self-paced online course running from 1 July to 2 August 2026. The course is approved by the Dept. of Education and is open to all teachers. Following successful completion, teacher in ROI can apply for EPV days.
The course is delivered through a series of short video lessons exploring key areas of literacy development, dyslexia, assessment and support.
Participants will be encouraged to engage in forum discussions and complete short assignments throughout, helping to reinforce learning and apply ideas in practice.
You will gain practical tools to identify and support students with literacy difficulties, including those with dyslexia. You will know how to spot the early signs of reading difficulties and how to intervene with the right strategies.
The course has been developed by experienced psychologists and educators, the course combines theory, assessment approaches, and intervention strategies, supported by real-world examples to help you create a more inclusive and supportive classroom.
What You Will Learn
Module 1: Literacy Development
