Course Description
The ability to bounce back quickly from setbacks is very important for happiness and success in life. This ‘bounce back ability’ is called resilience. Resilience is not something we are born with - but some people are naturally more resilient than others. Why is that? And how can we develop resilience in people. This course, designed for teachers will teach how resilience affects teenagers and what you can do to foster and promote resilience in the classroom. The course is full of practical resources, short learning quizzes and downloadable material for you to take with you.

Your Instructor
Dr Conal Twomey is a clinical psychologist with the Health Service Executive (Ireland). Dr Twomey’s work is currently divided between Adult Mental Health Services and Mental Health Intellectual Disability Services, yet he has considerable experience working with clients across the lifespan. Dr Twomey is also an experienced academic with over 20 published papers and over 500 citations to his name. He has lectured on various university psychology programmes in Ireland and the UK. Dr Twomey’s research interests include the therapeutic use of personality assessment, online psychotherapy, the application of open source principles to psychology, and meta-analysis.
